Colour Tones

  1. What is Colour Tones?

    Colour Tones allow you to replace the standard connecting tone with choice of selected tones, so caller will able to listen to it on the line while waiting for subscriber to pick up the call.

  2. What are the features available in Colour Tones?

    The features for Colour Tones are:

    • My Playlist - 25 tones
    • My Profile (Music Box) - 10 tones
    • My Profile (Time of Day) - 5 tones
    • My Profile (Specially for U) - 5 tones
    • My Profile (Special Occasions) - 5 tones

  3. What is My Playlist and its contents?

    My Playlist displays all tones you purchased from Planet Music via various channels (web, wap, IVR 1338, USSD menu browser *118#, and SMS).

    Up to 25 tones can be stored at one time. You can also add tones from My Playlist to any of the My Profile types.

  4. What are My Profile and its contents?

    My Profile consists of:

    • "Music Box" plays the tones in sequential order
      [NOTE: The tones from My Playlist will be automatically stored in the Music box as well. If the Music Box is full, the newly purchased tones will replace the oldest tone]
    • "Time of Day" plays a tone at a predefined time of the day.
    • "Specially for U" plays a tone to a predefined phone number, e.g. playing a tone to that special someone.
    • "Special Occasions" plays a tone at a predefined date to a predefined phone number, e.g. Raya, Chinese New Year, Christmas, etc.

  5. Where are the tones stored?

    When you purchase tones, they will be stored in both My Playlist and Music Box. However, if your Music Box is full, the oldest tones in your Music Box will be replaced by the new tones you purchased. The additional tones (11th tone and onwards) you purchase will be stored in My Playlist.

  6. How do I subscribe to this service?

    You can subscribe to Colour Tones from these following channels:

    • Type ON < space > CT and send this text message to 28118. Then you will receive a text message confirming your request, or
    • Dial *118# and press SEND/CALL. Then select "Colour Tones" and followed by "Subscribe" and you will receive a text message confirming your subscription, or
    • Go to www.u.com.my, select "Downloads" from the top menu, click on "Planet Music" to access "Colour Tones", then "Manage My Colour Tones" to subscribe to this service. You will then receive a text message confirming your request, or
    • Access wap.u.com.my from your mobile phone and click on "Planet Music" to access "Colour Tones" and go to "Manage My Colour Tones" to subscribe for the service. You will then receive a text message confirming your request.
  7. How will I be notified if I want to renew a purchased tone?

    You will receive a renewal notice text message two (2) days before the tone expires. If you do not respond to this text message, your tone will be automatically renewed for another 30 days.

    "Free msg. Colour Tones Renewal for < Tone ID > < Tone Title >. Fee RMX. Auto renewal < dd/mm/yy > unless cancelled. To cancel, send STOP CT < Tone ID > to 28118."

  8. If I have three (3) tones in My Playlist, how many renewal notice text messages will I receive?

    You will receive three individual text messages two (2) days before the tones expire. If you do not respond to the three text messages, your three tones will be automatically renewed for another 30 days.

  9. How many times will the system attempt to renew my tone if I run out of credit or if my line is suspended?

    The system will attempt to renew your tone three times from the date of expiry within three consecutive days, i.e. first attempt will be on the date of expiry, second attempt on the day after the expiry date, and the last attempt two days after the expiry date. Upon failure to renew after the third attempt, this tone will be deleted from your Colour Tones profiles and My Playlist.

  10. How can I cancel a tone/tones that I have purchased?

    You can cancel a tone/tones through these following channels:

    • To cancel a tone: Type STOP< space >CT< space >< Tone ID >, e.g. STOP CT 12345678.
    • To cancel all the tones from My Playlist: Type STOP< space >CT< space >ALL.
    • Access Planet Music from the U Mobile website to cancel the tone.
    • Access U Mobile WAP site from your mobile phone, and go to Planet Music to cancel the tone.

  11. How much is the subscription fee for Colour Tones?

    It is free of charge when you subscribe to the Colour Tones service.

  12. How much do I have to pay for a tone purchased for the first time and how much are subsequent renewals?

    When you purchase a tone for the first time, you will be charged RM3 each. The tone is valid for 30 days.
    To keep the same tone in your Colour Tones profile, you will receive a text message to renew your tone before the expiry date. You will then be charged RM2 each on subsequent renewals.
    For instance, if you purchase two tones the first time for RM6, you will need to pay RM4 on subsequent renewals should you decide to keep both tones.

  13. Will I be charged for calling Interactive Voice Response (IVR) at 1338 from my cell phone? Will I be charged for downloading tones from the IVR?

    You will only pay 12 sen per minute (30 seconds block) for the IVR service. For the purchased tone, you will need to pay for the tone purchased for the first time at RM3 each.

  14. Where can I purchase Colour Tones?

    You can purchase your favorite tones from these channels:

    • Go to www.u.com.my, access “Downloads” from the top menu, and click on “Planet Music” to download your favorite Colour Tones.
    • Access wap.u.com.my from your mobile phone, go to music catalogs in our “Planet Music” and download your tones from there.
    • Dial 1338 to listen and purchase to the tones.
    • Dial *118# and press SEND/CALL.
    • Type CT< space > < tone id > and send to 28118, e.g. CT 12345678.

  15. What are the Planet Music web and 'Manage My Colour Tones' sections?

    You can preview and purchase tones from the web music catalogue in Planet Music. The tones will then be displayed in 'My Playlist'.
    When you access the 'Manage My Colour Tones' section from the Internet, you can do the following:

    • Subscribe to the Colour Tones service
    • View and remove your purchased tones from 'My Playlist'
    • Add tones from 'My Playlist' to any Profile
    • View, activate, deactivate, add, and remove the tones assigned in various Profiles of 'Music Box', 'Time of Day', 'Specially for U', and 'Special Occasions'

  16. What are the Planet Music WAP and 'Manage My Colour Tones' sections?

    You can purchase tones from the WAP music catalogue in Planet Music. The tones will then be displayed in 'My Playlist'. When access the 'Manage My Colour Tones' section via WAP, you can do the following:

    • Subscribe to the Colour Tones service
    • View and remove your purchased tones from 'My Playlist'
    • Add tones from 'My Playlist' to any Profile
    • View, activate, deactivate, add, and remove the tones assigned in the various 'Music Box', 'Time of Day', 'Specially for U', and 'Special Occasions' profiles

  17. What services can I obtain from the 1338 Interactive Voice Response (IVR) for Colour Tones?

    You can subscribe to the Colour Tones service, listen, and purchase your desired tones. The purchased tones will be displayed in “My Playlist” over the web and WAP interfaces only. You will not be able to manage your Colour Tones Profiles from the IVR.

  18. I be charged for calling the 1338 Interactive Voice Response (IVR) from my mobile phone? Will I be charged for downloading tones via the IVR?

    You will only pay 12 sen per minute (1 second block) for the IVR service. For the purchased tone, you will need to pay for the tone purchased for the first time at RM3 each.

  19. What services can I obtain from dialing into the *118# USSD menu browser?

    You can subscribe to the Colour Tones service, view and purchase Colour Tone Hits, and enter Tone IDs to purchase tones. The purchased tones will be displayed in 'My Playlist' on the Web and Wap interfaces only. You will not be able to manage your Colour Tones Profiles from the USSD menu browser.

  20. Can I use Colour Tones while roaming overseas?

    When you are roaming abroad, your caller will still able to listen to your selected Colour Tones when making a call to you.

  21. Can I use Colour Tones while roaming within the Celcom network (domestic roaming)?

    When you are on domestic roaming, your caller will still able to listen to your selected Colour Tones when making a call to you.

  22. What will happen if I change my mobile phone number?

    Tones purchased via your previous mobile phone number will not be available as your Colour Tone account is tied to your previous mobile phone number. You will have to register your new mobile number and download your tones again.
