  1. When will the service be publicly available?

    2. 42Mbps HSPA+ network is available since December 2010. We will expand on the current coverage in Johor Bahru, Negeri Sembilan and Penang and also introduce the service gradually to other key cities like Klang Valley in second half of the year.

  2. When will it be available nationwide?

    3. U Mobile is the first telecommunication company to deploy the fastest internet connection when it launched the 42Mbps HSPA+ broadband network in October 2010. Currently the service is commercially available in selected areas in Johor Bahru, Negeri Sembilan and Penang. We will be expanding the coverage in those areas as well as Klang Valley by this year.   3. Expected Roll out of 42Mbps for phase One

    4. In the initial phase of this project, U Mobile will roll out this service in Malaysia across Johor Bahru, Negeri Sembilan, Penang and Klang Valley.

  4. How will this improve U Mobile’s Broadband offering?

    5. This exercise will help enable U Mobile to upgrade its current offering from 3.6 or 7.2Mbps download speeds to support HSPA+ which offers up to 42 Mbps Down Link and 5.76Mbps Up Link, which will be the fastest mobile broadband service offering in Malaysia.

  5. Where can we purchase the HSPA+ Dual Cell compatible 42MBps USB modem?

    6. The 42Mbps USB modem can be purchased at our U Mobile branches in Johor, Seremban and Penang today. We will announce periodically when it is available in more areas.

  6. Which spectrum will this ride on?

    7. HSPA+ is on the same 3G spectrum currently being utilized.

LTE (100Mbps)

  1. How is the LTE different from your recent HSPA+ 42 Mbps platform?

    2. LTE Technology in Malaysia will utilize 2.6GHz band. At the moment, final award of spectrum is still pending.

  2. When do you expect the 100 Mbps to be fully commercialized? How much will it be priced at?

    3. Commercial Launch is largely depending on the spectrum award timing by MCMC and availability of devices

  3. Apart from fast, affordable and seamless connection, how will this affect U Mobile’s new offerings in the near future?
