Postpaid BlackBerry® Internet Service – 24 months contract

  1. What is BlackBerry® Internet Service (BIS) with Data Bundle?

    BlackBerry® Internet Service allows you to use the following service on your BlackBerry® device

    • Internet Browsing
    • Email Services (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail )
    • Instant Messaging (Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ)
    • Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter)
    • BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™)
    • BlackBerry® Application World

    The Data bundle plan includes the following:

    • Internet tethering
    • Streaming services (e.g. Youtube)
    • Data Allowance = 5GB (Fair Usage Policy Applies)
  2. How much do I need to pay for BlackBerry® Internet Service with Data Bundle plan?

    You need to pay monthly service charge which is RM68.

  3. Am I eligible to sign up the above BIS Data Bundle plan only without purchasing the BlackBerry® handset?

    Yes, you can sign up for the BIS Data bundle plan only however, you need to sign up for 24 months contract.

  4. If I sign up BIS Data Bundle plan only without purchasing BlackBerry® handset? Do I need to pay any advance payment?

    Yes. You need to pay one (1) month advanced payment of service fee (RM 68).

  5. I want a phone bundle. How much do I need to pay up front?

    You need to pay for the device, advance payment (RM400) and additional of 1st month’s fee (RM68). This advanced payment will be used to rebate (RM 40) per month in your monthly bills.

  6. Is Easy Payment Plan applicable?

    Yes, Easy Payment Plan is applicable for BlackBerry® Bold™ 9780 smartphone device.

  7. What happen when I exceeded 5GB Data allowance? Do I need to pay more?

    There is a fair usage quota of 5GB in this bundle plan. If you exceeded your quota, your speed will be reduced. You will not be charged extra and you will still surf at no extra cost.

  8. Will this service work without a BlackBerry® device?

    No, you need to have a BlackBerry® device to subscribe to this service.

  9. Will this service work while I'm roaming in Celcom 2G?

    Yes, you will be able to use all BlackBerry® Internet Service while roaming in Celcom 2G. Video streaming and internet tethering will be available nationwide from 18th March 2011 onwards, it will be charged at 5sen/ MB.

    Data usage for BlackBerry® Internet Service is included in your Blackberry® Service plan.

  10. Will I be able to use this service while roaming overseas?

    You will need to activate your International Roaming services , then you will be able to use your BlackBerry® overseas.

  11. What Operation System does the BlackBerry® device is support?

    The device support both Operating System 5.0 & Operating System 6.0.

  12. How do I set up my BlackBerry® to receive emails?

    You can set up your email via your phone by going to “Set Up” Menu, select Email Setting and just follow the instruction.

  13. How do I know if the service is already activated?

    You will receive a message notification through your BlackBerry® device.

  14. If I obtain a BlackBerry® device from U Mobile, will U Mobile lock the device to your network?

    No, we would not lock the device.

  15. How many email accounts can I add into this BlackBerry® Internet Service?

    You can add up to maximum of 10 email accounts, excluding BlackBerry® email address.

  16. Can I change the SIM card to another model of BlackBerry®?

    Yes, you can. Your email settings also could be transferred into the new device.

  17. If I am a BlackBerry subscriber, can I purchase U Broadband Plan?

    Yes, you may purchase any U Broadband Plan by dialing *118# and select ‘U Broadband’.
