Postpaid BlackBerry® Internet Service – VAS Service Only

  1. What is BlackBerry® Internet Service?

    BlackBerry® Internet Service allows you to use the following service on your BlackBerry® device

    • Internet Browsing
    • Email Services (Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail )
    • Instant Messaging (Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ)
    • Social Networking (Facebook, Twitter)
    • BlackBerry® Messenger (BBM™)
    • BlackBerry® Application World

    * Internet tethering & Streaming services (e.g. Youtube) is not included in this plan. Data usage will be charged at 5 sen/ MB.

  2. What are the plans available for the BlackBerry® Internet Service?

    The following plans are available :

    • Daily – Valid for 1 Day @RM1.50
    • Weekly – Valid for 7 Days @RM9
    • Monthly – Valid for 1 Month * @RM25

    *Monthly plans are automatically renewed

  3. How do I sign up for BlackBerry® Internet Service?

    There are 2 ways to activate BlackBerry Service

    1.   UMB (*118#)
           E.g. Dial *118# , select Mobile Service > BlackBerry
           Then select the BlackBerry service according to the plan you wish to subscribe.

    2.   SMS (short code: 28118)
           E.g. Send to 28118

    • BB Daily plan, Send to 28118
    • BB Week plan, Send to 28118
    • BB Month plan, Send to 28118

  4. What does unlimited BlackBerry® Internet Service means?

    Unlimited BlackBerry® Internet Service means all service (please refer to Q1 for the service detail).

  5. How do I know if I will be charged additional 5sen/ MB for video streaming & internet tethering data usages?

    You will be prompted a message Ie : "Depending on your data plan you might incur additional charges. Do you wish to continue?" on your phone, by clicking "OK" you will be charged 5sen/ MB.

  6. Is there a fair usage policy for this service?

    Yes, please refer to FUP page.

  7. Will this service work without a BlackBerry® device?

    No, you need to have a BlackBerry® device to subscribe to this service.

  8. Will this service work while I'm roaming in Celcom 2G?

    Yes, you will be able to use all BlackBerry® Internet Service while roaming in Celcom 2G. Video streaming and internet tethering will be available nationwide from 18th March 2011 onwards, it will be charged at 5sen/ MB.

    Data usage for BlackBerry® Internet Service is included in your Blackberry® Service plan.

  9. Will I be able to use this service while roaming overseas?

    You will need to activate your International Roaming services, then you will be able to use your BlackBerry® overseas.

  10. Will this service be automatically renewed after expiry?

    For BlackBerry® Internet Service Monthly it will be automatically renewed monthly.

    For BlackBerry® Internet Service Daily & Weekly it will not be renewed. You will need to sign up again by dialing *118# after your BlackBerry® Internet Service plans has expired.

  11. Will I receive a notification when my service is about to expire?

    Yes, you will receive a SMS notification when your BlackBerry® Internet Service plan is about to expire.

  12. Will I be able to deactivate the BlackBerry® Internet Service?

    BlackBerry® Internet Service Daily & Weekly are not allowed to be deactivated, you will have to wait until the plan expires.

    For BlackBerry® Internet Service Monthly, you are able to deactivate by dialling *118# and select BlackBerry.

  13. What BlackBerry® device is support?

    The device support both Operating System 5.0 & Operating System 6.0.

  14. How do I set up my BlackBerry® to receive emails?

    You can set up your email via your phone by going to "Set Up" Menu, select Email Setting and just follow the instruction.

  15. If I am a BlackBerry subscriber, can I purchase U Broadband Plan?

    Yes, you may purchase any U Broadband Plan by dialing *118# and select ‘U Broadband’

  16. I am currently subscribing to BlackBerry daily plan, once the auto renewal start, what type of package will it be renewed?

    System will renew the BlackBerry daily plan, which is based on the package that you’ve previously subscribed.

  17. If I am existing subscriber that subscribe to the service before 4th April 2011, will the system perform auto-renewal on my BB package?

    Yes, the system will automatically renew your package.

  18. I do not wish to be automatically renew my package, what can I do?

    An SMS reminder will be sent to subscriber to inform that renewal will happen on the following day. If you do not wish to continue to renew the package you may send request to stop renewal function by dialing *118# and select “BlackBerry (BIS)” and “unsubscribe”.

    System will not perform the renew package and will terminate the package on expiry date.

    * For BlackBerry Daily package, SMS reminder will be send at 5pm on the same day.
    * For BlackBerry Weekly, Monthly package, SMS reminder will be sent out one day before service expiry.

  19. Do I allow to un-subscribe my BlackBerry service package (daily / weekly/ monthly)?

    Yes, you’re allowed to un-subscribe it any time before the service package expired. Once successful, the service will not be available at same day at 23:45.

  20. At what time would I be able to stop my BlackBerry renewal package via UMB?

    You’re able to stop the BlackBerry auto renewal package before any time before 23:00.

  21. Do I enjoy the BlackBerry® Unlimited Data Promotion?

    Yes, BlackBerry® Unlimited Data promotion is still available to subscriber whom subscribe to BlackBerry® Day / Week / Month service plan.
