What is Domestic Roaming (DR)?

You will be on Domestic Roaming once you step out of our coverage area. Our DR partner is Celcom, who offers nationwide coverage to you on behalf of U Mobile. We want to ensure that you, as our subscriber, are always covered!

What are the advantages of DR?

You will enjoy uninterrupted, nation-wide coverage so you can make voice calls and send SMS anytime, anywhere!

Are Celcom subscribers able to log on to U Mobile when they perform a network search?

No. Celcom subscribers cannot log on to U Mobile's network.
|

Will an icon be displayed on the screen to indicate that the service is currently active?

Yes. Our partner's network logo and name will appear on your phone screen, depending on the mobile phone and model used.
|

I've switched my phone to Dual Mode, but I still can't log on to DR.

It is not advisable to manually select our partner's network as our 3G services may not be accessible once you're back in our coverage area. Please call 018 388 1318 for further assistance.

How do I know if my DR status is active?

The partner's network logo and name will appear on your phone screen. This tells you that you are roaming on their network.

Do I have to do a manual selection to revert to U Mobile's network after being on DR?

It is not advisable to manually select our partner's network as our 3G services may not be accessible once you're back in our coverage area. Please call 018 388 1318 for further assistance.

Do U Mobile users have the option to accept or reject connecting to the domestic roaming partner's services if there is no U Mobile coverage?

No, you will not be able to choose. This domestic roaming agreement is to ensure that all U subscribers can make and receive voice calls and SMS even while outside of U's coverage areas.
There are no additional charges for domestic roaming our on partner's network.
