How to select our preferred roaming operators

Roam-Onz™ is automatically activated for all eligible customers. Just make sure you meet the following requirements.

  3. Under Network Operators, select Search Networks

  4. Select our preferred roaming operators

U Data Roam 10 and U Data Roam 36

You are advised to top up before you travel. However, you can still perform top up with your top up voucher even when you are roaming.

At the same time, you may also use our online banking channels to top up while roaming.

No, there is no data quota limitation. However, your internet usage will be subjected to our Fair Usage Policy which can be found at http://www.u.com.my/tnc/199.

Please note that your browsing speed may be managed if you exceed the Fair Usage Quota as specified in our T&C which can be found at http://www.u.com.my/tnc/199.

It will be refreshed daily at 12:00am every day based on the capital city’s time of the country that you roam in. With effective 18th Feb 2020, the quota will be refresh after 24 hours. Eg. 1:05pm 18th Feb 2020 until 1:04pm 19th Feb 2020

If your browsing session crosses over the refresh time of a day:

For U Data Roam 10:
You will be charged RM20 for 2 days of internet usage i.e. RM10 for the first day’s usage and RM10 for the second day.

For U Data Roam 36:
You will be charged a maximum rate of RM72 for 2 days of internet usage, i.e. a maximum rate of RM36 for the first day and a maximum rate of RM36 for the second day.

In the Same Country:
Regardless of which preferred operators you have selected or switched in the same day, you will still be charged at RM10/day or RM36/day.

Example:
When you roam in India and you have switched between two operators i.e. Aircel & Reliance in the same day, you will still be charged at RM10/day.

In Different Country:
You will be charged RM10/day or RM36/day for each of the country you have visited.

Example:
When you roam in Singapore in the morning and roam in Indonesia later on the same day, you will be charged at RM10/day(Singapore) & RM10/day (Indonesia).

No, it is only applicable for roaming usage.

International roaming charges are exempted from GST effective from 1 April 2015 onwards

When you are connected to our preferred roaming operators’ network, your data usages will be subject to the charges applicable per day depending on whether the U Data Roam 10 or U Data Roam 36 is applicable to you.

When you switch your network connection to other roaming operators’ network that is not listed above, you will not be able to use mobile data. However, you may still be able to use voice and SMS service subject to applicable charges imposed by the roaming operator you connect to.

U Data Roam 10 and U Data Roam 36 Promotion Terms and Conditions

  1. The U Data Roam 10 (“Data Roam 10”) and U Data Roam 36 (“Data Roam 36”) promotion (“Promotion”) is a data roaming offer which enables you to enjoy high speed data roaming at the flat rate of RM10 per day or a maximum rate RM36 per day while on roaming at selected countries. This Promotion is not applicable for voice and SMS service.

  2. The Promotion is available to all U Mobile prepaid and postpaid subscribers (principal and member lines) except for postpaid broadband subscribers.

  3. The Promotion cannot be transferred to any other mobile numbers.

  4. Each Promotion is provided according to the Terms of Service on our Postpaid Sign-Up Form or U Mobile Prepaid Terms and Conditions relevant to you. You must comply with those terms including the relevant service description, our Fair Usage Policy, Privacy Policy, the relevant postpaid or prepaid subscription plan and these additional terms and conditions (collectively, the "Terms") all of which are available on www.u.com.my.

  5. We reserve the right to modify or otherwise change these Terms including the charges without notice to you. This overrides any requirement where we may have to give you notice in other parts of our agreement with you.

  6. The Promotion cannot be combined with any other offers unless expressly stated.

  7. The Promotion is available from 7 April 2016 until further notice.

  2. If you do not connect to the Preferred Roaming Network, you will not be able to use the internet while on roaming. However, you may still be able to use voice and SMS services subject to the applicable charges imposed by the respective roaming operator you are connected to.

  3. You will be automatically subscribed to either the U Data Roam 10 or U Data Roam 36 when you connect to the Preferred Roaming Network while on roaming and you use the internet based on the country you are in.

The U Data Roam 10 and U Data Roam 36 subscription is a daily subscription which will commence from the first time you use the internet on roaming in the country you are in, and will be valid until the expiry time on the same day unless otherwise stated below (based on time of the capital city of the country you are roaming in) as prescribed in the following table which applies until 17 February 2020.

    1. With effect from 18 February 2020, U Data Roam 10 and U Data Roam 36 subscription is a 24 hours subscription which will commence from the time you use the internet on roaming in the country you are in.

    Each of the validity period referred to in paragraphs (a) and (b) above is referred to as “Daily Validity Period”.


  5. If you exceed the Daily Validity Period, you will be charged for the second day’s usage or the subsequent 24 hour usage, as the case may be.

  6. For Postpaid subscribers, the Promotion will be applicable to all principal and member lines that have international roaming. Each principal line and member line will be charged separately based on the activation.

  7. For Prepaid subscribers, you must ensure that you have sufficient credit before you go on roaming. As an example, if you wish to roam in Australia, you must ensure that you have RM10.00 credit available for each day of roaming or at the start of each 24 hour period, from the first time you use the internet on roaming in the country you are in. If you have insufficient credit, this Promotion will not be applicable to you.

  8. The mobile internet roaming service is subject to the preferred roaming operator’s network availability.
