  1. What is IDD?

    IDD service allows U Mobile customers to enjoy making voice, video as well as SMS to other countries. In condition, IDD video call is subjected to the availability of other operator of the country.

  2. Will I be charged an international rate when I make an IDD call?

    Yes, you will be charged according to the international rate. Please call our customer service at 018-3881318 for further assistance.

  3. How do I make an IDD call (Voice/Video)?

    Dial “00” or “+” followed by the country code, mobile prefix or area code and the phone number that you would like to dial.
    Example: To place an IDD call to Singapore, < + > < 65 > < area code > < phone number >

  4. Do I have to pay a registration or monthly fee?

    There are no additional registration fees are required, however you are required to register this service in any U Mobile Service Centre and RM 300.00 of deposit is required upon registration. Deposit is refundable.

  5. How do I activate IDD?

  6. How much does an IDD call cost and how will it be reflected on my itemized bill? Are the charges based on the length of the call or on time the call was made or on destination country? Is there a flat monthly rate?

    Your call charges will come under the 'International' section in your bill, which records all the calls you made to destinations outside of Malaysia. Name of the destination country will be reflected in the billing.

  7. Will my IDD call be charged in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) or in the currency of the country I called?

    Your IDD call will be charged in Ringgit Malaysia (RM).

  8. Do I have to pay a deposit for the service?

    Yes, deposit of RM 300.00 is required upon activation. You may pay via cash or credit card. Deposit is refundable.

  9. Do I need to deposit RM600 if I am activating both IR & IDD services simultaneously?

    No. Kindly refer to below examples:-

    • a. To activate IR service only, require RM300 deposit.
    • b. To activate IDD service only, require RM300 deposit.
    • c. To activate IR & IDD services, require RM300 deposit.

  10. Can I suspend or de-activate my IDD?

    Yes, please visit our nearest customer service centre for this service request.

  11. Are there any differences in call charges between making an IDD call to a mobile and a fixed line?
  12. Will I get charged if my recipient is unreachable?

    No, unless the call is answered by your recipient's voice mail or IVR, you will not be charged.

  13. How do I key in the '+' sign?

    You should be able to locate it on your phone keypad. Alternatively, you can dial '00'.

  14. I have to configure any settings on my mobile to make an IDD call?

    No.

  15. Will I be notified of any changes in IDD rates?

    Please check our website periodically to get the latest rates and promotions! You will also be informed via your bill from time to time.

  16. Do I need to activate or configure any settings on my mobile in order to use DR?

    No. Just ensure that your phone is a 3G handset set to Dual Mode.

      Easy Steps:
    • 1) Go to 'Menu"
    • 2) Select "Setting"
    • 3) Then "Network"
    • 4) Select "Dual Mode" on network mode
    • 5) Finally, click "OK"



    Intermittent Issues you may encounter whilst roaming in China

  17. While roaming in China, I notice that a lot of my calls back to Malaysia are not able to be connected. Why is this?

    This could be due to a few factors. The basic check would be to ensure that your mobile device is within coverage of our Partner Network in China – China Unicom.

  18. But I’ve already checked my phone and I have good coverage(as indicated on my mobile phone screen); why can’t I still make calls back to Malaysia?

    Our partners in China – China Unicom have alerted us to an intermittent network issue that they are facing at present – where they cannot support outbound calls with the “+” prefix. Please use “00” as your international dialing prefix until further notice.
