1. What is International Airtime Transfer?

    International Airtime Transfer is a service that allows U Prepaid subscribers to transfer a small amount of prepaid credits to overseas prepaid mobile account.

  2. To whom can I transfer the prepaid credits?

    You may transfer the prepaid credits from your U Prepaid mobile number to another prepaid mobile number overseas. Click here for the list of supported countries and mobile operators.

  3. Can I transfer prepaid credits while I am roaming in another country (International Roaming)?

    No. U Prepaid international roaming service is currently unavailable.

  4. What is the minimum balance required in my U Prepaid account in order for me to perform a prepaid credits transfer?

    You will need to maintain a minimum balance of RM5 after performing each prepaid credits transfer. For example, you have RM15 prepaid credits, the maximum transfer amount is RM10 in order to maintain minimum balance of RM5.

  5. How much prepaid credits can I transfer?

    You can transfer a maximum of RM100 per month.

  6. How much am I charged for the prepaid credits transfer?

    You will only be charged for the denomination selected for the International Airtime Transfer.

  7. Will the recipient receive the prepaid credits in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) or foreign currency?

    The recipient will receive the prepaid credits in foreign currency. For example: when you transfer RM13 to an Indonesia friend, he or she will receive it as IDR25,000.

  8. Will the sender receive an SMS confirmation when the International Airtime Transfer is successful?

    Yes. The U Prepaid subscriber will receive a confirmation SMS when the recipient received the prepaid credits. The SMS will display the amount in Ringgit Malaysia (RM) deducted from sender's prepaid credit balance and the foreign currency amount received by the recipient.

  9. Will there be any notification to the recipient when the prepaid credit amount has been successfully transferred?

    Yes. The recipient will receive an SMS notification on the amount received in foreign currency.

  10. Can I send any other denominations that are not listed?

    No. You can only send according to the fixed denominations offered by U Mobile.

  12. Is there any subscription fee for this service?

    No. There will not be any subscription fee for this service.

  13. How can I qualify to use this service?

    You must be an existing active U Prepaid subscriber with sufficient prepaid credits to use this service.

  14. I have a credit balance of RM10 but the validity period has expired. Can I still use the International Airtime Transfer?

    No. Your account has to be active in order to enjoy this service.

  15. I have a prepaid credit balance of RM8. Can I purchase RP10,000 = RM8 worth of International Airtime Transfer?

    No. You need an additional of RM10 as the additional amount to qualify to top up apart from the denomination fee. However, the RM10 will not be charged to your account. It is just to qualify the subscriber in using this service.

  16. Is the SMS sent via this service is free?

    Yes. The SMS sent via this service is FREE.

  17. Is this service available to all U Prepaid rate plans?

    Yes. This service is available to all U Prepaid rate plans.

  18. How soon can my recipient receive the airtime credited to them?

    The recipient will receive the airtime credits within 5 minutes.

  19. What happens if the recipient's mobile telephone is not switched on when I transfer the airtime credits?

    The recipient's airtime credit balance will be increased (top up) but the recipient might not receive the SMS notification. However, the sender will receive a successful SMS notification.

  20. What happens if the recipient's mobile telephone has been terminated or barred or suspended when I transfer the airtime credits?

    An invalid number or transfer failure SMS notification message will be sent to the sender. The deducted amount will be refunded into the sender's prepaid account automatically.

  21. What if the recipient is travelling overseas or roaming into another country?

    The recipient's airtime credit balance will be increased (topup) in accordance to the currency of the recipient's originating country. An SMS notification on the airtime credits transferred will be sent and a roaming SMS charge may incur.
