1. What is U Broadband?

U Broadband is a mobile broadband service that enables U Mobile subscribers to enjoy high speed broadband Internet.

2. What are the rate plans in U Broadband?

U Broadband has 4 different plans to suit all levels of usage. These are MB-Day, MB40, MB68 and MB128.

3. How much data volume does each plan give?

MB-Day plan has a data volume of 500MB
MB40 plan has a data volume of 2GB
MB68 plan has a data volume of 5GB
MB128 plan has data volume of 20GB

Fair Usage Policy applies.

4. Who can sign up for U Broadband?

U Broadband is open to all existing U Mobile subscribers. If you are not a U Mobile subscriber, please visit your nearest U Mobile Store / U Mobile Authorized Dealer to sign up.

5. I would like to use U Broadband on my laptop? How do I sign-up?

For Prepaid Subscription,
Get yourself a U Mobile Prepaid Starter Pack and dial *118# to sign up for U Broadband packages.

For Postpaid Subscription,
To sign up for U Broadband plan, please visit your nearest U Mobile Store / U Mobile Authorized Dealer.

6. How will I know if my subscription application to U Broadband has been successful?

A SMS notification will be sent to you upon successful activation of your U Broadband plan. We do advise you start using U Broadband only upon receiving this SMS confirmation.

7. What is data allowance? How much data can I use?

Data allowance is the amount of data that you purchase / sign up for as part of your U Broadband plan.

After the data allowance limit is reached, the access speed will be managed. Subscribers do not need to pay extra charges during the period of the subscription.

8. What do I need in order to use U Broadband service?

You will need to use a USB modem or MiFi device to access the U Broadband service.

9. I am using U Broadband on my laptop with HSDPA modem. Is there any HSDPA modem settings needed?

Yes. In your modem software settings configurations, under “General”, please fill in :

10. What is U Broadband's fair-usage policy?

Kindly refer to our Fair Usage Policy.

11. Can I use the data allowance when I am roaming overseas?

No, this data allowance is only applicable within U Mobile 3G coverage areas in Malaysia only. You will be charged roaming data charges for usage outside of U Mobile 3G coverage areas.
