  1. What is U Broadband Postpaid?
  2. U Broadband Postpaid is a plan that gives you broadband access and SMS services through a broadband-only SIM card. This SIM card may only be used for broadband access and SMS services. It cannot be used for voice and MMS services.
    You will receive a monthly bill for U Broadband service.

  3. How can I subscribe to U Broadband Postpaid?
  4. Please visit a U Mobile Store / Authorized Dealers to sign up for the U Broadband Postpaid Service.

  5. What are U Broadband Postpaid plans that I can subscribe to?
  6. There are 3 different U Broadband Postpaid plans:

    MB40 plan has a data volume of 2GB, 30 days validity
    MB68 plan has a data volume of 5GB, 30 days validity
    MB128 plan has data volume of 20GB, 30 days validity

    Fair Usage Policy applies.

  7. Am I allowed to switch plans?
  8. Yes, you may. To switch to another U Broadband plan, call our customer service centre at 1318 or 018-388 1318.

  9. How can I check my current data allowance usage?
  10. To check your current data allowance usage, remove the SIM card from your modem then insert the SIM card to your mobile phone.

    Dial *118# and select U Broadband, then select “Check Usage”.

    Alternatively, you may also send a SMS by typing in “BAL” and send to 28118.

  11. Does a foreigner need to pay a deposit?
  12. Yes. Foreigners are required to pay deposits of RM100 for Broadband Plans (Data Only Sim Card - No Voice feature).

  13. What is the maximum activation line per person?
  14. Activation line allowed per person is five (5) postpaid lines. 3 postpaid voice + 2 postpaid broadband lines.

    No, this SIM can only be used for internet data access and SMS services.


Postpaid Bundle Plans

NON RENTAL

7.2mbps USB Modem, 21mbps MiFi, 42mbps USB Modem Bundle Plans

  1. How much should I pay upon registration?
  2. You are only required to pay as follows:-

    7.2mbps Modem Bundle – activation fee of RM 100
    21mbps MiFi Modem Bundle – activation of RM 100 and device fee of RM 250.
    Total RM 350.
    42mbps Modem Bundle – activation of RM 100 and device fee of RM 250.
    Total RM 350.

  3. Will there be any advance payment?
  4. There would not be any advance payment for all the non-rental plans

  5. Am I eligible for the 7-day MBG for all this bundle plans?
  6. Yes. 7-day MBG would apply for all the bundle plans above.

  7. Is there any contract for all this bundle plans?
  8. There will be no contract for all this plans. However, we do have contractual bundling plans. Pls refer to our rental plan’s FAQ.

  9. What is the different between the 21mbps MiFI and 42mbps Modem?
  10. 21mbps MiFi modem would allow you to connect up to 10 users at the same time, while 42mbps modem would applicable for 1 user connection only.

  11. Do I enjoy rebate for any of the plans?
  12. You will only enjoy the rebate if you subscribe to either MB68 or MB128 Postpaid Modem Bundle Plans. No rebate for MB40 Plan.

  13. How will the rebate be given to me? Will my monthly fee be lower?
  14. Your rebate will be reflected in your UM bill statement for first 5 months. Yes, you monthly fee will be lower when the rebate is given.

  15. If I suspend my line, how will my 5 months rebate be given?
  16. If you suspend and reinstate within the same bill cycle month, you will be entitle for the rebate. However if you suspend more than one bill cycle month and reinstate thereafter all the remaining months of rebate will be forfeited.

  17. Will I be charge prorated, if I subscribe or terminate in the middle of the month?
  18. There will be proration reflected in you first month bill if you subscribe in the middle of the month. However there will be no proration for termination.

  19. Why I am being charge in full and not a prorated amount upon my termination of subscription?
  20. Our UB Promo plan only offers proration during subscription of service. However, should you have existing data allowance balance left, we recommend that you use it up first before discontinuing your service at month end.

  21. Is there any termination fee upon termination?
  22. There will be no termination fee as this is a non-contractual bundle plans.

  23. Can I get refund if I terminate the line?
  24. There will be no refund for any termination of the line.

  25. Where can I subscribe for these plans?
  26. You can register at U Mobile Service Center and with our participating dealer.

  27. What happen if my modem is faulty? Is there any warranty for the modem?
  28. Your modem comes with one year warranty. Please visit the nearest ZTE Service Centre or Huawei Service Centre for replacement (pls check the manufacturer of your device). You may login to www.u.com.my for the ZTE Service Centre & Huawei Service Centre details.

  29. Can the modem support in my window7?
  30. Yes. Your modem can support window 7.

  31. What does the modem package come with?
  32. Your modem package come with – main set, battery, data cable, quick start information and warranty card.

21mbps MiFi & 42mbps USB Modem Bundle Plans

  1. How much should I pay upon registration?
  2. You are only required to pay as follows:-

    Activation Fee of RM100, Rental Fee of RM20 and the Advance Payment of either MB68 or MB128 which sum up to either RM188 or RM248.

  3. Am I eligible for the 7-day MBG for all this bundle plans?
  4. Yes. 7-day MBG would apply for all the bundle plans above.

  5. Do I enjoy rebate for any of the plans?
  6. You will only enjoy the rebate if you subscribe to either MB68 or MB128 Postpaid Bundle Plan. No rebate for MB40 package.

  13. What if I would like to terminate my account in between the contract period? Would there be any penalty?
  14. Yes, there would be a processing fee of RM240 charged upon request of termination within the contract period. BUT if modem being returned on the same day of request, you will be refund of RM50. Therefore, you would only need to pay RM190.

  15. Do I need to comply with any T&C for the modem condition upon the returned of the unit?
  16. There is no particular T&C for the returned modem. As long as the modem would able to function/work (plug and play) accordingly upon the return.

  17. What if I lost my modem during the contract period?
  18. You are to pay RM 240 for a replacement modem.

  19. If my contract expired, do I still need to pay for the rental fee?
  20. You are required to pay your monthly access fee with the rental fee even your contract had been expired if you wish to continue with our service

  21. Would I get any refund if I returned my modem after my contract period?
  22. You will be refunded RM50 for returning the modem upon your termination of service after the contract period. But the refund process would take approx. 30-45 days.

  23. How will I receive the refund?
  24. The refund of RM50 (cheque) will be mail direct to you mailing address.

  25. Where can I subscribe for this program?
  26. You can register at U Mobile Service Center and with our participating dealer.
