U Broadband Prepaid

  1. How can I subscribe to U Broadband prepaid plan?
  2. If you are an existing U Mobile prepaid subscriber, you can activate U Broadband by dialing *118# on your mobile phone and selecting "U Broadband" from the menu.

    OR

    Alternatively, you may also send a SMS to 28118, by typing in "ON MBxx" for the data plan you would like to subscribe to e.g.
    Send ON MB40 to 28118, if you wish to subscribe to MB40

  3. How much do I need to pay if I am activating the Mobile Broadband service using the UMB service?
  4. Using UMB service is free of charge

  5. How much do I need to pay if I am activating the Mobile Broadband service using the SMS service?
  6. SMS to 28118 is to be charged at standard SMS rates, at RM0.05 per SMS.

  7. What are the plans that I can subscribe to?
  8. There are 5 different U Broadband Prepaid plans::

    MB-Day has a data volume of 500MB, valid only for 24 hours
    MB15 has a data volume of 500MB, 15 days validity
    MB40 plan has a data volume of 2GB, 30 days validity
    MB68 plan has a data volume of 5GB, 30 days validity
    MB128 plan has data volume of 20GB, 30 days validity

    Fair Usage Policy applies.

  9. Can I subscribe to U Broadband if my account is inactive?
  10. Your account must be active if you wish to subscribe to U Broadband.

  11. What is the minimum credit required in order to subscribe to U Broadband?
  12. You need to have sufficient balance in your account to subscribe.
    For example, in order to subscribe to MB40, you need to have more than RM40 in your subscription wallet.

  13. Will I be able to use U Broadband if my credit validity has expired?
  14. If your credit validity has expired, you will still be able to use U Broadband until the U Broadband validity expires.

  15. Will my U Broadband subscription automatically be renewed when the validity expires?
  16. Yes. The U Broadband Prepaid plan (for MB40, MB68 and MB128) will be automatically renewed after your subscription has ended on the 30th day.

  17. Will I be informed before the auto renewal service is carried out?
  18. The subscriber will be informed of this auto renewal service, 2 days before the expiry of the subscribed plan.

  19. I do not need auto renewal, what should I do to stop/unsubscribe this auto renewal service?
  20. If you wish to stop or unsubscribe auto renewal, please dial *118#, under "U Broadband" and select "Unsubscribe U Broadband". The system will not auto renew your subscription plan on the 30th day.

  21. Once I have stopped the auto renewal, can I still use the broadband service?
  22. After you have stopped the auto renewal, you can still use the data service until the subscribed data plan expires.

  23. I am using MB40. I do not cancel the auto renewal service, but my credit balance is below RM10, will the auto renewal service work for me? If not, what should I do to get it auto renewed?
  24. You are using MB40. If your credit balance only has RM10, the auto renewal service will not work because you have insufficient fund. You will receive SMS notification, to inform you that you have insufficient fund.
    There will be another attempt to auto renew the data for you. Please kindly make sure you have reloaded sufficient fund, in order to have the data plan auto renewed.

  25. Am I allowed to switch plans?
  26. Yes. However, switching of plans is only allowed when the validity of the subscribed plan expires.

  27. Will new prepaid customer also enjoy this service?
  28. Yes, all new and existing prepaid customers will be able to subscribe to U Broadband. However, if you are new prepaid customer, you might need to top up to subscribe to any of the plans if your prepaid credit is low.

  29. How can I check my data allowance usage?
  30. You may check your balance by dialing *118# on your mobile phone. Select "U Broadband", and then select "Check Usage".
    Alternatively, subscriber may send a SMS by typing in "DATA" and send to 28118.

  31. Can I use U Broadband if my prepaid credit has been used up?
  32. Yes, you may continue using the purchased U Broadband until the validity expires.

  33. Can I use the data service once my prepaid mobile broadband validity expires?
  34. Once your Mobile Broadband plan validity expires, you can still use the data service, but you will be charged at the rate of RM0.05/MB for data usage. Subscriber needs to observe a minimum credit of RM0.05 in your account, should you decide to use Pay-As-You-Use service.

  35. Can I use the data service when my data allowance limit has been reached?
  36. Yes, you may still enjoy using the data service even when the data allowance limit has been reached, but your access speed will be managed. Subscribers do not need to pay extra during the period of the subscription (as long as it is within the validity period)
