U MOBILE ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Kuala Lumpur, 5 July 2010 – U Mobile Sdn Bhd today announced the appointment of Dr. Kaizad B. Heerjee as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Kaizad takes over from Mr. Kenneth Chang who will continue to serve as a board member of U Mobile and a member of the company's Executive Committee.

Prior to joining U Mobile, Dr. Kaizad worked at PT Indosat,Tbk (Indosat), Indonesia’s second largest mobile service provider, as Deputy President Director from December 2005 to 2008 and more recently as a Director and Chief Commercial Officer from 2008 to 2010. During his tenure at Indosat, Dr. Kaizad successfully steered the company through the dramatic price competition and strengthened Indosat as Indonesia’s pre-eminent telecommunications service provider. He was intimately involved in the company’s successful bid for the coveted 3G and WIMAX licenses. Under his leadership, Indosat’s cellular subscriber base grew by almost 400% to over 39 million, and the company cemented its position as a market leader in mobile broadband services.

Dr. Kaizad has more than 20 years of international senior management and leadership experience in the private and public ICT sectors. He was the Senior Vice President of International Operations & Business Development at Singapore Technologies Telemedia (ST Telemedia), Senior Vice President & Head of Business Markets at StarHub Ltd. and Assistant Chief Executive of the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore. He was also the Chairman of the Conexus Mobile Alliance, which is the largest mobile user alliance in Asia/Pacific. Dr Kaizad also spent over 10 years with Compaq Computers and Digital Equipment Corporation in several senior management, sales and marketing, and technical positions worldwide.

Dr. Kaizad has a Doctorate degree in Computer Science and a Master’s Degree in Information Technology from the UK. He has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Mathematics from the University Delhi, India.
