» What is U Platinum?
U Platinum is a Postpaid Voice & Data Plan that aims to meet the needs of voice and data users:-
With U Platinum, pay RM498 per month (with 36-month contract) and enjoy 15GB data and free 1200 Voice minutes (U Mobile to U Mobile & U Mobile to Others) and free 1200 SMS (U Mobile to U Mobile & U Mobile to Others).
» How much Monthly Access Fee does the U Platinum subscriber need to pay?
The subscriber will have to pay a monthly Access Fee of RM498.
» What does Monthly Access Fee mean?
Monthly Access Fee is the monthly subscription fee billed to the subscriber to be eligible for Free data, voice minutes and SMS.
» Am I able to use the Free Voice and Free SMS overseas?
No. Free Voice and SMS are only for local usage. Data roaming charges will apply.
» Would I be able to carry over my unutilized Free voice, SMS and Data?
No. They are to be used within the month. Unutilized Free Voice, Free SMS and Data will be forfeited.
» I have excess quota for my on- net (U Mobile to U Mobile) Free Voice and Free SMS. Can I convert these to off-net (U Mobile to Others)?
No. They cannot be converted from on-net (U Mobile to U Mobile) to off-net (U Mobile to Others) and vice versa. However, if the Free Voice or Free SMS has exceeded the allocation, Pay-As-You-Use (PAYU) rates will apply for the excess minutes or SMS.
» What will I be charged after I have exceeded my Free Voice?
Pay-As-You-Use rates will apply. 9 sen per 30 seconds.
» What will I be charged after I have exceeded my Free SMS?
Pay-As-You-Use rates will apply. There will be a charge of 5 sen per SMS (U Mobile to U Mobile) and 12 sen per SMS (U Mobile to Others).
» What will I be charged after I have exceeded my 15GB data allowance?
There will not be any charges. Fair Usage Policy applies. You will still be able to use more data at no charge;however, the surf speed will be reduced.
» What is the credit limit for the plan?
The credit limit for U Platinum is RM1000.
» Is domestic data roaming available for this plan?
Yes.
» How much is the Advance Payment?
The Advance Payment is RM996* which will be used to pay for your initial monthly bills.
* Upfront payment is equivalent to 2 months of U Platinum Access Fee. (RM498 x 2 months)
» What is the contract period for U Platinum?
The contract period for U Platinum is 36 months.
» Can I use my cash or credit card to pay for the advance payment?
Yes. You may pay by either cash or credit card.
» Do I need to pay my monthly bill via credit card and enable credit card auto debit for U Platinum plan?
Yes. You will have to pay your monthly bill via credit card, with auto debit enabled.
» Any limit on the number of plans that one customer can subscribe to?
There is no limit but 1 subscriber is eligible for 3 principal lines. You can sign up to 3 rate plans with U Mobile. This will include existing voice / broadband plans and the Voice & Data plans.
» Is this open to Mobile Number Portability (MNP)?
Yes. Subscriber of U Platinum can port out:-
• after completion of 36-month contract
• after paying off the penalty and all amounts due to U Mobile (if 36-month contract is not fulfilled at the time of request).
» Where can I sign up for U Platinum plan?
Please visit any of our U Mobile Service Centres in Malaysia.
» Is U Platinum subscriber allowed to downgrade the plan?
Yes. But downgrading is only allowed after full completion* of the contract, ie. 36 months.
*Full completion includes full settlement of all amounts due to U Mobile by the subscriber.

Early Termination

» I would like to terminate my U Platinum plan. What is the penalty?
The remainder of the Advance Payment that has not been offset in the monthly bills will be forfeited. Early Termination Charges (ETC) will also apply.
» How is the Early Termination Charges (ETC) calculated?
ETC will be based on the daily Access Fee (Monthly Access Fee divided by 30 days) multiplied by the number of days remaining in the contract. *Cancellation Charges calculation: E.g.: if we receive your termination notice on the 5th day of the 3rd month of the Minimum Period (U Platinum; Access Fee: RM498; Minimum Period of Service: 36 months;), your Cancellation Charges will be as follows:

» What is the validity of U Platinum plan?
It is available for a limited period.

Term and Conditions

  1. These voice and data plans (“Services”) are supplied in accordance with the Terms of Service in our Registration Form. You must comply with those Terms of Service including our Fair Use Policy and these terms and conditions. All applications for Services are subject to our credit assessment and acceptance.
  2. You have to pay the monthly access fee for the Services (“Access Fee”) as outlined below, even if you do not use the Services. Special number**, international direct dial and international roaming for voice and data service are not part of the Access Fee and additional charges apply and may be changed at any time.
  3. You must subscribe to the Services for a minimum month from the date of our acceptance of your application (“Minimum Period”) depending on the Services subscribed.
  4. If you terminate the Services for any reason or if we terminate the Services because you have not complied with any of the Terms of Service in our Registration Form including these terms and conditions, during the Minimum Period, cancellation charges made up of the Access Fee multiplied by the remaining number of months of the Minimum Period (“Cancellation Charges”) are payable and you must pay all outstanding charges.
  5. Handsets or Devices
    • You must have a device that is approved by us as suitable and compatible to access and use the Services or you may buy the device from us. For a list of devices, please refer to www.u.com.my
    • We do not warrant the performance or suitability of your device on our network.
    • If you have bought any device or accessories from us or our dealers, all claims relating to those products are covered by the warranty, if any, offered by the relevant manufacturerIf you choose to use your own device to access the Services, the operation of the device, and any repairs to it, is your responsibility.
  6. The Services are subject to network availability. The maximum download speed is up to 3.6Mbps. Actual speeds will vary and are affected but not limited, by your distance from our mobile tower, the capacity of our mobile tower, the source of your download, your hardware and software and the general Internet traffic.
  7. If you exceed the allocated usage of the Services, additional charges will be imposed. The details of the monthly quota and charges are stated below and applicable after full utilization of free minutes and data allowance. If you do not use the Services to the value of the Access Fee for the month, no part of this Access Fee will be carried over to the following months.
  8. We reserve the right to amend or change the tariffs at any time during the Minimum Period as we deem fit. We will provide you with a new rate plan if you choose to continue with the Services when this rate plan expires. If you are not satisfied with the alternative rate plan, you may terminate this Service by giving us the notice.
  9. We may monitor your account to ensure you are complying with the agreement. We will investigate misuse of the Services. If we find that you have misused this Services we may recover from you any costs of investigating the misuse and any compensation we are required to pay to another user or party as a result of your misuse.
  10. You can port a phone number you have obtained from us to use with the service of another mobile service provider but you must settle all outstanding charges before you are allowed to port. If you port the phone number during the Minimum Period, you must pay the Cancellation Charges and all outstanding charges.
  11. We reserve the right to add, vary or amend these terms and conditions from time to time as we deem fit by written notice.
  12. This rate plan cannot be combined with any other rate plans unless expressly stated.
