Kuala Lumpur, 17 March 2026 – U Mobile wishes to announce that following the completion of the Share Purchase Agreement between Singapore Technologies Telemedia Pte Ltd (“STT”) and Mawar Setia Sdn. Bhd. (“Mawar Setia”), Mawar Setia’s shareholding in U Mobile has increased to over 50%.

This development enhances Malaysian ownership and further strengthens domestic participation in one of Malaysia’s key mobile and broadband operators, as U Mobile progresses into its next phase of corporate development.

U Mobile also wishes to announce that YAM Tunku Tun Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim Ismail has been appointed Chairman of U Mobile with effect from 13 March 2026. Her Highness brings valuable leadership and governance experience, having led private organisations across a broad range of industries and serving on the boards of several public listed and private companies.

Her appointment follows the relinquishment of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun from his position as Chairman with effect from the close of business on 12 March 2026. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan will assume the role of Founder and Advisor to the Board, where he will continue to provide guidance and support the Company’s ongoing growth.
