Kuala Lumpur, 26 AUGUST 2026 – U Mobile, Malaysia's newest 5G network provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Asia OneHealthcare Group (A1H) to deploy its ULTRA5G In-Building Coverage (IBC) across the Group’s hospitals nationwide. This collaboration marks U Mobile’s latest expansion into the healthcare sector, significantly boosting its indoor 5G footprint.

The initial phase of the rollout will cover 15 hospitals, including Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) and selected Columbia Asia hospitals. SJMC is the first hospital under this partnership to officially go live with the high-speed network, paving the way for a progressive expansion across all other participating A1H hospitals.

As healthcare facilities increasingly rely on digital tools and connected systems to support patient care and day-to-day operations, strong and reliable 5G indoor connectivity plays an important role in enabling seamless communications, access to information and operational efficiency. In addition to the rollout of 5G In-Building Coverage, U Mobile and A1H will also assess how 5G and future 5G-Advanced technologies can support selected healthcare use cases, enhance workflows and contribute to more connected healthcare environments.

As part of the collaboration, selected proof-of-concept initiatives will be undertaken through U Mobile's Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP), an open innovation environment designed to connect enterprises, technology partners, startups, academia and ecosystem stakeholders. By facilitating collaboration, experimentation and co-creation, the platform aims to accelerate the development and adoption of innovative solutions powered by technologies such as 5G-Advanced, artificial intelligence and next-generation digital infrastructure, helping organisations unlock new opportunities for growth and transformation.

The deployment across Asia OneHealthcare hospitals further expands U Mobile's growing 5G In-Building Coverage footprint, which currently spans over 200 sites to date. The collaboration reflects U Mobile's commitment to continuously expand its superior 5G connectivity both outdoors and indoors especially across key sectors while supporting the evolving connectivity needs of organisations and their users.
