Kota Kinabalu, 29 August 2025 — U Mobile, Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, has enabled ULTRA5G in Kota Kinabalu, just in time for National Day and Sabah Day on 31 August 2025.  

To make the celebrations more memorable, U Mobile has made additional efforts to ensure that U Mobile customers attending the events will get to enjoy the ULTRA5G experience (identified with ‘UM ULTRA5G’ on their devices), such as crystal-clear video calls and ultra-smooth live streaming even in congested areas. With the Kota Kinabalu celebrations expected to attract a crowd of about 50,000, ULTRA5G will be able to provide customers with high-quality and reliable connectivity as it is powered by the telco’s next generation network.  

On top of the celebrations in Kota Kinabalu, the telco is also powering up the National Day celebrations in Putrajaya, ensuring that Malaysians in the capital may also enjoy the benefits of ULTRA5G. This initiative underscores U Mobile’s commitment to deliver the widest and deepest 5G coverage in Malaysia, enabling reliable connectivity both outdoors at major events, as well as in indoor environments.
