KUALA LUMPUR, 6 August 2026 – U Mobile, Malaysia's newest 5G network provider, today officially launched its Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP) Hub, a collaborative innovation hub built on the company's state-of-the-art 5G-A infrastructure, designed to help enterprises transform ideas into real-world solutions powered by 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Officiated by the Minister of Communications, YB Dato' Seri Fahmi Fadzil, the launch marks the next chapter of U Mobile's Enterprise Innovation Platform (EIP), reinforcing the company's commitment to Powering Possibilities by empowering businesses to harness 5G-A and emerging technologies to drive digital transformation. As organisations increasingly explore AI-powered solutions and other advanced technologies, many continue to face a common challenge—how to successfully translate innovation into practical business outcomes. The EIP Hub bridges this gap by providing a dedicated environment where enterprises can develop, test, and demonstrate 5G-A and AI-enabled solutions before scaling them across their operations.
More than an innovation hub, the EIP Hub is where ideas become real-world solutions. By bringing together enterprises, technology partners, academia, advisors and public sector stakeholders, it enables organisations to develop, test and demonstrate 5G-A, AI and other emerging technologies before scaling them with confidence. This helps reduce implementation risks, accelerate adoption and deliver meaningful business outcomes faster.
The launch marks the next milestone for the Enterprise Innovation Platform, following the appointment of its Advisory Panel in July and the growth of its ecosystem of 15 partners spanning technology, enablement, academia and anchor organisations. By bringing together expertise in connectivity, AI, cloud, cybersecurity and enterprise technologies, the platform fosters collaboration, accelerates innovation and enables businesses to transform with confidence.
To illustrate how emerging technologies can deliver tangible business outcomes, the EIP Hub showcased four in-house implementations demonstrating practical enterprise applications of 5G-A and AI. These included 5G and AI-driven Visual Intelligence for real-time operational monitoring, Digital Twin with 5G, IoT and AI for predictive asset management, 5G Drone patrolling and data capture for autonomous inspection and surveillance, and 5G Enabled Humanoid Robotic Autonomous Intelligence to automate operations and enhance productivity.
In addition to the EIP Hub's in-house demonstrations, EIP partners showcased industry-specific solutions that highlighted the practical impact of 5G-A and AI across different sectors. These included MCMC AgriNXT's AI-powered agriculture solution for optimising plantation operations and asset utilisation; Qualcomm's AI-enabled smart retail solution, which delivers real-time insights into customer behaviour and store operations to improve business performance; and Huawei's AI-powered Smart Ward Solution, which integrates 5G, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and IoT connectivity to enable real-time patient monitoring and intelligent analytics, enhancing clinical efficiency, improving patient care and supporting a safer, smarter and more connected hospital environment.
U Mobile Chief Executive Officer Wong Heang Tuck said, "At U Mobile, our ambition is not just about providing connectivity. As Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, we are building the digital infrastructure and the foundation to power the country’s next phase of growth.”
“Through the Enterprise Innovation Platform and the EIP Hub, we want to create an environment where organisations can confidently explore new technologies, develop practical solutions and scale innovations that create measurable business outcomes via our state-of-the-art 5G-A infrastructure. Our powering possibilities commitment is closely aligned with Malaysia’s aspiration to become a leading digital nation. As digital adoption accelerates across every sector, collaboration between government, industry, academia and technology partners will become even more important. And ultimately create meaningful progress for the nation.”
As part of the launch, EIP Hub also held a two-day Executive Innovation Forum, that brought together industry leaders, technology partners and innovators for thought leadership sessions, solution showcases and an exclusive tour of the EIP Hub. Attendees will gain first-hand insights into practical 5G-Advanced (5G-A) and AI applications, while exploring opportunities for collaboration and innovation. Moving forward, the EIP Hub will continue expanding its ecosystem through strategic partnerships, proof-of-concepts, solution validation and pilot programmes. Powered by ULTRA5G and U Mobile's In-Building Coverage (IBC), it will serve as a platform for enterprises and partners to develop and validate practical 5G-A and AI applications across key industries.
U Mobile was recently recognised by Opensignal for its strong network performance, earning recognition across Quality of Experience, Network Performance and Application Experience, in addition to the 5G Availability award.
