The U Data Roam 10 and U Data Roam 36 plans are affordable data roaming promotions that enable you to enjoy unlimited internet roaming at selected destinations when you connect to our preferred roaming operator’s network while roaming.

This promotion starts on 7 April 2016 until further notice.

This promotion is available to all U Mobile prepaid and postpaid plans, except for U Mobile postpaid broadband plans.

Yes. As long as your member line activates the international roaming service, the member line holder will be able to enjoy the same promotion as the principal line holder.  However, the usage will be charged separately. 

For example, using U Data Roam 10 in Singapore:
If the principal line holder and 1 member line use data roaming at the same time in Singapore when they connect to STARHUB, the principal line will be charged RM10 per day and an additional RM10 per day for the member line’s internet usage while roaming.

You just need to ensure that your international roaming service is activated before you travel overseas.  

There is no manual subscription required. However, you will NEED to manually select and connect to the preferred roaming operator’s network based on the country you are in.

Yes, you will receive a welcome message which mentions our preferred roaming operator’s name and network when you arrive at your destination country.

You will not be able to connect to the internet on your mobile device using your mobile data.  

To continue enjoying the internet connection, be sure to connect to U Mobile’s preferred roaming operator when you are abroad. 

For U Data Roam 10, any usage of the internet will be charged at a flat rate of RM10 valid for 24hrs.

For U Data Roam 36, your internet usage will be charged at a rate of RM9 per MB up to a maximum rate of RM36 valid for 24hrs.

You are advised to have the required amount of credit in your account based on the country you intend to visit before travelling. 

For example, if you do not have RM10 credit in your main credit balance account when you travel to countries where the U Data Roam 10 is available, the promotion will not apply to you. You will not be able to subscribe to U Data Roam if you have insufficient credit in your main credit balance account. This is because U Data Roam charges can only be deducted from the Main Credit Balance even though you have sufficient credit in your CreditShare Balance. 

If you have less than RM36 in your account when you travel to countries where the U Data Roam 36 is applicable, you are still allowed to perform data roaming until the service is blocked for insufficient credit. Data usage will be charged at RM9/MB and capped at RM36/day.

You are advised to have the required amount of credit in your account based on the country you intend to visit before travelling.

You are advised to top up before you travel. However, you can still perform top up with your top up voucher even when you are roaming. 

At the same time, you may also use our online banking channels to top up while roaming.

No, there is no data quota limitation. However, please note that browsing speed may be managed.

You can find out the specific time zone based on the country you are in by referring to the “Daily Validity Period” at https://www.u.com.my/tnc/150.

All data quota and charges will be refreshed at 12:00 am every day based on the country’s capital city’s time that you roam in.

Note: Effective 18th Feb 2020, the data quota and charges will be refreshed after 24 hours. Eg. 1:05pm, 18th Feb 2020 until 1:04pm, 19th Feb 2020.

In the same country:
Regardless of which preferred operators you have selected or switched on the same day, you will still be charged at RM10/day or RM36/ day. 

For an example:
If you are roaming in India and have chosen to switch between 2 operators - Aircel and Reliance - on the same day, you will still be charged at RM10/day. 

In different countries but on the same day:
You will be charged RM10/day or RM36/day for each of the countries you have visited. 

For an example: 
If you’re roaming in Singapore in the morning and later in Indonesia on the same day, you will be charged separately for both countries - RM10/day (Singapore) and RM10/day (Indonesia).

No, it is only applicable for roaming.

When you are connected to our preferred roaming operators’ network, your data usage will be charged per day, subject to whether you are on U Data Roam 10 or U Data Roam 36. 

When you switch your network connection to another roaming operators’ network that is not listed above, you will not be able to use your mobile data. However, you may still be able to use voice and SMS service subject to applicable charges imposed by the roaming operator that you are connected to.

The mobile device may not be permanently locked to the selected roaming operator once the manual selection is configured. You are advised to regularly monitor your mobile device’s connection to ensure that you are connected to our preferred roaming operator’s network.
