Terms & Conditions

  1. This Postpaid Merdeka Upgrade Campaign ("Campaign") is organised by U Mobile Sdn Bhd Registration No. 199101013657 (223969-U) ("U Mobile") which will commence at 10.00 am on 26 August 2024 and will end at 11.59 pm on 20 September 2024 ("Campaign Period").
  2. All entries received before or after the Campaign Period will be automatically disqualified.
  3. By participating in this Campaign, you agree to be bound by all the terms and conditions below ("Terms and Conditions").
  4. Campaign Eligibility
    1. This Campaign is open to selected eligible Active U Mobile subscribers only (Corporate account not included):
      1. are Active principal line holders (“Active” means able to make and receive calls);
      2. are of age 18 years and above; and
      3. received an SMS from U Mobile (“Notification”); or received MyUMobile app push notification (“MyUMobile App”) for subscribers who have downloaded the MyUMobile App.
    2. U Mobile’s employees, agencies, partners, and their immediate family members are not allowed to participate in this Campaign.
    3. U Mobile reserves the right to reject any entries or disqualify any participant without assigning any reason.
    4. Participants who are below the age of 18 years old are deemed to have obtained the consent of their parents or guardians to participate in this Campaign.
  5. Campaign Mechanics
    1. To participate in this campaign, you must upgrade with Special Promo (Sim-only contract).
    2. Upgrade by
      • replying to the SMS Notification(“Reply”) or
      • clicking the ‘Take up this deal’ notification on the MyUMobile App (“Reply”) during the Campaign Period

    1. U Mobile will notify the participants of their entitlement to receive the prize via SMS (“Reward Notification”). U Mobile may use any other method or medium it deems fit to notify the participants of their entitlement to receive the prizes.
    2. The Prizes will be delivered to the winners within 60 days from the campaign end date. However, U Mobile reserves the right to extend the delivery schedule
    3. The reward is given on “as is” basis. U Mobile reserves the right to substitute the reward with another reward of similar value at any time without prior notice.
    4. The subscribers must ensure that their Postpaid account is Active and have no overdue bill during the Campaign Period and at the point of delivery or redemption of the rewards. “Active” means able to make and receive calls.
    5. Subscribers who upgrade/downgrade their rate plan during the Campaign Period or at the point of delivery or redemptions of the rewards will no longer be eligible to enjoy the rewards.
    6. The reward is non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash, credit or rebate in full or in part, and any prizes shown in U Mobile’s website, U Mobile Facebook page, MyUMobile app, advertisements and Contest materials are for photography or illustration purposes only.
  1. Special Promo
    1. The subscribers who successfully upgraded will receive the Special Promo (Free bill rebate with commitment period) within 7 working days.
    2. Subscribers will enjoy the Special Promo with a contract (commitment period) & subject to the terms & conditions of the offer. The contract start date is the date subscribers receive the Special Promo (Free bill rebate).
    3. You must ensure that your Postpaid account is Active during the Campaign Period. “Active” means able to make and receive calls.
    4. The offer is not applicable if you have outstanding payment with us.
    5. This campaign is not applicable to you if you are currently enjoying another Special Promo.
  2. Contract (Commitment Period) & Early Termination Charges
    1. The Special Promo will be subjected to a commitment period (“Commitment Period”) which is the duration of the period that you enjoy the benefit.
    2. Commitment period will start from the subscription date of Special Promo.
    3. Subscriber shall NOT during the commitment period:
      1. Terminate/suspend your Postpaid plan or port out to another mobile service provider.
      2. Downgrade or change your Postpaid plan. However, subscriber is allowed to upgrade to the eligible Postpaid plan and enjoy the special promo for the remaining commitment months.
      3. Change or transfer ownership.
    4. If any of the event in clause 8c above occurs, this Special Promo will be terminated, and you shall pay the early termination charge based on below:

Subscribers subscribed to Special Promo - RM10 for 6 months and downgrade in month 4.

Subscriber is required to pay RM20 (RM10 x 2 remaining months of rebate entitlement.)

  1. Minimum Usage Term
    1. By upgrading your current rateplan, you are agreeing to the Minimum Usage Term.
    2. The Minimum Usage Term is a 90-day period that begins when Postpaid customers change their SIM-only plan to a current selling plan. During this period, customers are not allowed to downgrade or switch to Prepaid.
  2. General
    1. U Mobile’s decisions on any matter relating to this Campaign are final and binding on all participants. If any matters arise which are not covered in these Terms and Conditions, they will be determined solely by U Mobile.
    2. U Mobile may change any of these Terms and Conditions including terminating or suspending this Campaign and extending the Campaign Period. Any such change will be announced on our website. It is your responsibility to check these Terms and Conditions on our website and if you do not agree to any of the changes, you must immediately cease participation in the Campaign.
    3. All prizes are accepted entirely at the risk of the participants. To the extent permitted by law, U Mobile excludes all liability in connection with this Campaign. All participants and if the participants are below 18 years of age, their parents or guardians agree to release U Mobile from and indemnify U Mobile against all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury, for loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) or breach of any of these Terms and Conditions; whether direct or indirect, special or consequential arising out of participation in this Campaign.
    4. By participating in the Campaign, all participants: -
      1. consent for U Mobile to collect, record, hold, store, use and disclose their personal information for purposes which are necessary or related to the participation in the Campaign.
      2. consent for U Mobile to disclose or publish their personal information such as their names and identities and any general information that U Mobile sees fit about the participants in any media, marketing or advertising materials; and
      3. grant U Mobile the absolute and unrestricted right to modify, use and publish any still or moving images of the participants for any promotional, marketing, commercial or other related purpose, without any payment or compensation.
    5. The subscription and use of U Mobile’s Prepaid and Postpaid mobile services are subject to U Mobile’s standard Prepaid and Postpaid Terms and Conditions and where applicable, these Terms and Conditions. In the event of any inconsistency, U Mobile’s standard Prepaid and Postpaid Terms and Conditions, as the case may be, will apply to the extent of such inconsistency.
    6. The Campaign and these Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. The participants agree that the Courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over all matters arising from this Campaign.
