These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of ULTRA5G Intelligent Security (“ULTRA5G Intelligent Security” or “Service”) by U Mobile Sdn Bhd (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By subscribing to a rate plan that includes ULTRA5G Intelligent Security, or by subscribing to ULTRA5G Intelligent Security as an add-on (where made available), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with our General Terms of Service and Privacy Notice available at
www.u.com.my.
1. Service Description
1.1 ULTRA5G Intelligent Security (“Service”) is a bundled feature of the ULTRA5G Reserve Plans (“Plan”) that blocks access to harmful, illegal or malicious websites as well as scam calls and SMS alerts.
1.2 Web Browsing Protection
1.2.1 Web Browsing Protection categories may include but are not limited to adult or pornographic content; malware, botnets, spyware, and adware; phishing, fraud, and scam websites; spam sources and spam-related URLs; illegal content (e.g. child sexual abuse material); and sites promoting self-harm. These categories may be updated from time to time without prior notice.
1.3 Scam Call Alert
1.3.1 Scam Call Alert is a network‑level security feature that analyses incoming calls for indicators associated with scam/spoofing patterns and, where a call is assessed as potentially suspicious, displays a warning label (e.g., “Scam Alert”) on your device before you answer.
1.3.2 Scam Call Alert provides an advisory warning only. It does not automatically block or drop calls unless required by law or directed by the relevant authorities.
1.3.3 The feature applies to mobile voice calls delivered over our network. It does not apply to calls made or received via over‑the‑top (OTT) or internet‑based services (e.g., WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram, VoIP apps) or to calls that bypass standard network signalling.
1.3.4 Scam Call Alert is not available for incoming calls received while you are outside Malaysia (international roaming).
1.3.5 Due to evolving scam techniques, there may be false negatives (scam calls not flagged) and false positives (legitimate calls flagged).
1.3.6 Availability and performance may vary by device model, operating system, call presentation (e.g., withheld numbers, private numbers), network conditions, and other technical factors. We may update detection policies, thresholds, and presentation of warnings from time to time without prior notice to improve effectiveness.
1.4 Fake SMS Scam Alert
1.4.1 Fake SMS Scam Alert is a network-level feature that analyses SMS messages for signals commonly associated with phishing/smishing and other fraudulent activity. Where a message is assessed as potentially suspicious, the Service will block the message containing suspicious links on our network.
1.4.2 The feature applies to SMS delivered over the mobile network. It does not apply to messages sent via OTT or internet-based messaging platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, RCS over data where not transiting our SMS network).
1.4.3 Fake SMS Scam Alert continues to function when you are outside Malaysia (international roaming). Effectiveness may vary due to roaming partner capabilities, local regulations, and technical conditions.
1.4.4 The feature may not detect all scam/fraudulent messages and may occasionally flag legitimate messages.
1.4.5 We may update detection policies, thresholds, and notification methods from time to time without prior notice to improve effectiveness.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Eligibility for ULTRA5G Intelligent Security is determined by the applicable rate plan terms and conditions or add-on subscription terms, as communicated by us from time to time.
2.2 Where ULTRA5G Intelligent Security is bundled within a rate plan, the Service is provisioned at the plan level.
2.3 Where ULTRA5G Intelligent Security is offered as an add-on, the Service applies only to the subscribed service line or account to which it is attached.
2.4 ULTRA5G Intelligent Security may co-exist with other bundled or add-on features, subject to technical compatibility and network configuration requirements.
3. Suspension and Termination
3.1 Where ULTRA5G Intelligent Security is bundled within a rate plan, the Service will be suspended or terminated in accordance with the suspension or termination of the underlying rate plan.
3.2 Where ULTRA5G Intelligent Security is subscribed as an add-on, the Service will terminate upon cancellation of the add-on or termination of the underlying service line.
4. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
4.1 Web Browsing Protection
4.1.1 Web Browsing Protection is provided on a “as-is” basis without any service level assurance (whether express or implied). The Service may not block all harmful websites, including detecting or blocking all harmful, malicious, illegal, or inappropriate websites or online content. It may occasionally block websites or content that are lawful, safe or otherwise unobjectionable.
4.2 Scam Call Alert and Fake SMS Scam Alert
4.2.1 Scam Call Alert and Fake SMS Scam Alert (together, the “Alerts”) are risk reduction features intended to assist you in identifying potentially suspicious calls and SMS. They are advisory tools only and do not constitute a guarantee that a call or message is safe or unsafe. You remain solely responsible for deciding whether to answer a call, respond to an SMS, click any link, or disclose any information.
4.2.2 The Alerts operate using automated, network level analysis. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any analysis or labelling and we do not undertake to monitor, moderate, or verify the identity of any caller or sender.
4.3 The Alerts are not designed for and must not be relied upon for emergency communications. Emergency calls and messages may not be tagged or treated differently by the Alerts.
4.4 We may suspend, modify, or disable all or part of the Alerts to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or directions of competent authorities, without liability to you.
4.5 Where the Alerts rely on third party threat intelligence, reputation lists, or analytics, we do not make any representation or warranty regarding such third party information and disclaim liability for any errors or omissions in such information.
4.6 The Service is offered as a supplementary filtering feature to help reduce exposure to online threats such as unsafe websites, phishing attempts, malware and other online risks while using the Plan. While it provides additional protection, the Service does not replace antivirus software, firewalls or other security measures and no security solution is completely effective. You should remain cautious and practise safe browsing.
4.7 The Service may not function properly if your device, browser, or applications use special DNS settings instead of the normal default DNS setting.
4.8 Matters Beyond Our Control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, continuous, secure, or error-free operation of ULTRA5G Intelligent Security.
4.9 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or expense (whether direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive), including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of data, or anticipated savings, arising directly or indirectly from:
(a) Use of or inability to use ULTRA5G Intelligent Security; or
(b) Your reliance on, or failure to act on, any Alert; or
(c) Any disclosure of information, payment, transaction, or decision you make in response to any call or message, whether or not flagged by the Service; or
(d) Any variation in network performance.
