Terms & Conditions

General

1. The U Data Roam 10 ("UDR 10"), U Data Roam 36 ("UDR 36"), U Data Roam 10 Booster (“UDR 10 Booster") and U Data Roam 36 Booster (“UDR 36 Booster”) (collectively, “U Data Roam Passes”), are single country data roaming passes which enable you to enjoy high speed data roaming in selected countries.
2. U Data Roam Passes are available to all U Mobile prepaid and postpaid subscribers (principal and member lines) except for U Mobile postpaid broadband subscribers.
3. U Data Roam Passes cannot be transferred to any other mobile numbers.
4. U Data Roam Passes are provided according to the Terms of Service on our Postpaid Sign-Up Form or U Mobile Prepaid Terms and Conditions relevant to you. You must comply with those terms including the relevant service description, our Fair Usage Policy, Privacy Notice, the relevant postpaid or prepaid subscription plan and these additional terms and conditions (collectively, the "Terms"), all of which are available on www.u.com.my.
5. We reserve the right to modify or otherwise change the Terms including the charges without notice to you. This overrides any requirement where we may have to give you notice in other parts of our agreement with you.
6. U Data Roam Passes cannot be combined with any other offers unless expressly stated.
7. U Data Roam Passes are available from 26th Oct 2023 until further notice.

Purchase and Activation

8. To enjoy U Data Roam Passes, you must:
   1. Ensure that your international roaming service is activated before you travel; and
   2. Connect to our preferred roaming operator’s network when you are on roaming in eligible countries.
9. If you do not connect to any preferred roaming operator’s network, you will not be able to use the internet while on roaming.
   
10. UDR 10 or UDR 36 will be automatically purchased for you and you will be automatically subscribed to either UDR 10 or UDR 36 if:
    
    1.  Your international roaming service is activated;
    2. You connect to a preferred roaming operator’s network;
    3. You have not manually subscribed for UDR 10 Booster or UDR 36 Booster;
    4. You have no other active roaming passes; and
    5. You have more than 48KB roaming data usage.
11. The destination country you are currently in determines whether you will be automatically subscribed to UDR 10 or UDR 36.
12. UDR 10 Booster and UDR 36 Booster will not be automatically activated and can be purchased through either:
    1. MyUMobile app (for postpaid and prepaid subscribers); or
    2. UMB *118# (for prepaid subscribers only).
13. The U Data Roam Passes will be valid for twenty-four (24) hours upon successful purchase. Upon expiry of either one of the U Data Roam Passes, if you have not disabled roaming access on your devices and have not subscribed to UDR 10 Booster, UDR 36 Booster or any other roaming passes, UDR 10 or UDR 36 will be automatically re-purchased for you.

Charges

14. The detailed U Data Roam Passes’ structure and charges can be found in the Appendix.
15. The U Data Roam Passes, all international roaming charges and availability of countries for roaming are subject to change, please refer to https://www.u.com.my/en/personal/mobile-plans/roaming-idd/roaming#other-plans or MyUMobile app for the latest applicable charges and availability of countries for roaming before leaving Malaysia.
16. You will be charged on top of your monthly spend once you have purchased the UDR 10 Booster or UDR 36 Booster, or if international roaming data quota is not included in your postpaid or prepaid plan, UDR 10 or UDR 36 will be automatically purchased for you. To avoid unintended charges, you are responsible to disable roaming access on your devices.
17. For postpaid subscribers (except postpaid broadband subscribers), U Data Roam Passes will be available to all principal and member lines that have international roaming. Each principal line and member line will be charged separately based on the activation.
18. For prepaid subscribers, you must ensure that you have sufficient credit before you go on roaming. As an example, if you wish to roam in Australia, you must ensure that you have at least RM10.00 credit available at the start of each 24-hour period, from the first time you use the internet on roaming in the country you are in. If you have insufficient credit, U Data Roam will not be available to you, unless you perform a reload to ensure sufficient credit balance. 

Internet Data

19. a. The UDR 10 and UDR 36 are daily automatic 24-hour subscriptions which will commence upon successful purchase.
    b. The UDR 10 Booster and UDR 36 Booster are 24-hour subscriptions which will commence upon successful purchase.
    
20. For all U Data Roam Passes, you will enjoy unlimited internet data usage, and the first 500MB of internet data will have unrestricted high-speed access. 
21. Once you have surpassed the first 500MB internet data usage, you can still access the internet without incurring any additional charges, however: 
    1. For UDR 10 and UDR 36, your internet data speed will be reduced to a maximum of 64Kbps; and
    2. For UDR 10 Booster and UDR 36 Booster, your internet data speed will be reduced to a maximum of 512Kbps.

    U Mobile reserves the right to revise the usage allowance and internet data speed from time to time.

22. Once you have exhausted the initial 500MB unrestricted high-speed access, you have the option to purchase UDR 10 Booster or UDR 36 Booster to enjoy 500MB unrestricted high-speed access either via your MyUMobile app or via UMB by dialling *118#, or continue to use the internet at a reduced internet data speed.
    
23. You may check your internet data usage and expiry via your MyUMobile app (for prepaid and postpaid subscribers) or via UMB by dialling *118# (for prepaid subscribers only).
    
24. If you have multiple U Data Roam Passes at the same time with different validity periods, the U Data Roam pass with the shorter validity period will be utilised first to consume the roaming data quota.
