1. By performing an upgrade from any U Mobile Prepaid plan (“Prepaid Plan”) to any U Mobile Postpaid plan (“Postpaid Plan”), you agree to be bound by all terms relating to the relevant service description, our Fair Usage Policy, Privacy Notice, the relevant Postpaid Plan and these additional terms and conditions (collectively, the "Terms") all of which are available on www.u.com.my.
a. You will be able to switch your existing Prepaid Plan to the Postpaid Plan by:
i. clicking the ‘Upgdrade plan’ on the MyUMobile App; or
ii. walking into any of our U Mobile store;
iii. visiting our online store; or
b. For clarity, we reserve the right to deny any request to switch your existing Prepaid Plan to the Postpaid Plan at our sole discretion.
c. An SMS notification will be sent to you on the status of your upgrade request. If the upgrade is successful, your Prepaid Plan will be upgraded to the Postpaid Plan instantly upon receipt of the “successful upgrade” status.
d. When you switch your existing Prepaid Plan a Postpaid Plan:
i. you may retain your phone number registered under the existing Prepaid Plan;
ii. you are required to update your personal information through U Mobile website’s Self-Care or MyUMobile App to receive the first bill.
iii. any credit remaining in your Prepaid Plan account up to a maximum value of RM150.00, may be carried over to your Postpaid Plan to offset your subsequent Prepaid Plan bill payments. Any Prepaid Plan credit balance exceeding the sum of RM150 will be automatically forfeited;
iv. any remaining SMS, voice minutes and data allowance will be forfeited;
v. any content subscription services in your Prepaid Plan will be automatically terminated except for your direct carrier billing (DCB) service subscription which will be carried forward to the Postpaid Plan;
vi. all free gifts, reward or benefits (free SMS, free MMS, loyalty benefits, birthday bonus and other related benefits) related to the Prepaid Plan will be forfeited; and
vii. the 1 month Advance Access Fee for the Postpaid Plan will be reflected in your first Postpaid Plan bill where you are normally required to pay 1 month Advance Access Fee and the current month’s charges.
a. We may change any of these Terms. Any such change will be announced on our website. It is your responsibility to check these Terms on our website and if you do not agree to any of the changes, you must immediately terminate your Postpaid Plan.
b. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability in connection with these Terms. You agree to release us from and indemnify us against all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury, for loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) or breach of any of these Terms; whether direct or indirect, special or consequential arising out of the Terms.
c. In the event of any inconsistencies between these Terms and the terms and conditions of the Postpaid Plan, the terms and conditions of the Postpaid Plan will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
d. These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. You agree that the Courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over all matters arising from these Terms.
